My name is Dakota Dillon or Kody as most locals and friends call me. I am the owner and operator of this company and grew up on the farm and land we guide on. I come from a multi-generational farm family that is God fearing and hard working.
This all started off with a small-town kid who wanted to grow up and hunt just like Dad. My father is an avid hunter and would often tell me of his adventures in Alaska and of course that got my imagination going. Before you know it, I’m 8 years old and my dad is finally taking me to the field and no longer did I have to dream of hunting with my hero.
At 17, I switched from rifle to bow which now looking back, was the most challenging and rewarding decision I ever made. The difficulty and discipline it taught me sharpened my abilities and grew my character as a man. In all reality, this process taught me how to fall in love with the journey which I relate back to my relationship with Christ. Learning to weather the storms and the failures of bow hunting was so much like my faith. Hunting started to become more about spending time with God in the wilderness and how can I use the giftings God has given me to bless others. Next thing you know, I’m helping out family members, friends and even strangers in the field. I even spent two years helping guide for a professional outfitter, learning the inner workings of a company and how to tailor hunts to your clients.
In addition to the natural love of the outdoors and professional experience in the field guiding, I took up teaching. I became a licensed hunter education teacher in 2018 and it has been nothing but rewarding to pay it forward to the future generation of hunters. My goal with this company is truly about conservation and serving my fellow man. Growing and maintaining steady mule deer populations is our focus, and our game is thriving.
